New look, website and focus;German tie-up with Greenpeace Energy.

Demand for renewable energy from the sun is booming, and Solarwatt is investing to ensure householders and businesses in the UK, Ireland and elsewhere can embrace the green energy revolution while benefiting from the best products and services.

Across the UK, 175 MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar capacity was installed from January to March 2021, according to the trade group Solar Energy UK. Significant growth over winter raised total PV capacity to more than 14 GW, generating enough electricity to power over 3 million homes. Post-subsidy rooftop installation continues to thrive, driven by lifestyle, economic and ecological benefits, with rooftop PV capacity seeing 14% year-on-year growth.

Innovation plus highest-quality technical products and systems

On June 9, Solarwatt and the BMW Group announced the development of "Battery flex", a battery storage system whose battery module employs components that are also used in the BMW Group's electric cars. Solarwatt has also entered into a cooperation agreement with the Webasto Group whereby the tier-one automotive manufacturer will produce cell modules for incorporation both in BMW batteries for electric vehicles and in new, stationary Battery flex units manufactured by Solarwatt.

Solarwatt to further its reach in the UK market; appointment of Marketing Manager

Meanwhile, Solarwatt continues to develop its UK and Ireland markets. Having brought in Trevor Treleven as Technical Support and Sales Engineer in April, we are excited to announce a further key appointment – Kertu Tutt becomes Marketing Manager for the UK, Ireland and the Nordics.

Kertu is the former Marketing and Communications head at the smart charging infrastructure provider Heliox, where she was responsible for the international marketing and communications strategy and execution. As a proactive marketeer she is experienced in B2B and B2C communication and is driven by creating compelling brand stories. She will continue driving and developing Solarwatt’s branding strategy and marketing communications strategy for the UK and Ireland market. “Householders and businesses recognise the economic and environmental benefits of solar,” said Ms Tutt. “They want quality, performance, innovation and longevity. Solarwatt is serving these customers by providing clean, green electricity generation, energy management and storage in one high-quality system, made in Germany.”

Expansion of cooperation with premium installers in the UK and Ireland

Solarwatt is further expanding its cooperation with its UK and Ireland network of premium installers and is seeking to add to its installation partner network to ensure customers in all parts of the UK and Ireland can generate, store and manage clean, renewable energy and have the support they require.

Welcoming the changes, Neal Goddard, Solarwatt Sales Manager, UK and Ireland, said: “As Solarwatt is growing further in the UK and Ireland, I am excited about the new developments and holistic solutions we offer. In addition, Solarwatt is simplifying its own processes to further improve the entry and subsequent processing of orders for installers, while becoming the largest network for sustainable energy systems. Our partners benefit from extensive support.”

New look, website and focus reflect continuing commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly energy solutions

Solarwatt has embraced a new visual and brand identity, which is not only aesthetically appealing but also accessible, providing its customers and visitors with an exceptional user experience. This brings the company even closer to its customers with its holistic energy solutions.  Our customers, partners and others can effortlessly find on our new website the relevant information and news about our products, company and our commitment to sustainability and energy independence.

The holistic approach of Solarwatt enables its customers to charge their electric cars and power a heat pump with their self-generated solar power. Solarwatt CEO Detlef Neuhaus adds: "This is the way forward in terms of reducing CO2 emissions. We are already ensuring that large consumers in the household or in a commercial enterprise can be powered by solar systems in an environmentally friendly way."

In future, Solarwatt customers will benefit even further from self-generated solar power. Several customer-oriented services have been developed that make it even easier for them to generate and use their own solar power. Among new services available in Germany, customers can use Greenpeace Energy, a green electricity provider established by the famous environmental campaign group and certified by Solarwatt, to purchase residual electricity that is not covered by the PV system. For several years now, Solarwatt has offered a comprehensive "FullCoverage" insurance policy that covers the PV system against possible damage and loss of use. This can now be extended in the UK and Ireland to up to 10 years at the time of purchase and can also be extended from year to year.

Solarwatt becomes a sector coupler

Solarwatt now sells more than three quarters of its photovoltaic products as a system consisting of high-quality glass-glass modules, battery storage and energy managers. The Dresden-based company is consistently pursuing its chosen path and is now also building bridges to the energy and transport sectors with its energy solutions.

At Solarwatt, we don't wait for the future, but actively shape it with our energy solutions. That's why we design our products to function for an extremely long time, with maximum reliability. We see acting sustainably as a driver for future viability of our planet. This is reflected in everything we do as a business.
