International Motor Show: Jaguars electric car I-PACE fills up with green electricity

Dresden, 18th September 2019 –

At the International Motor Show IAA in Frankfurt/Germany, the automobile manufacturer Jaguar presents its fully electric vehicle I-PACE. Furthermore, a PV system "made in Germany" provides 100 percent green electricity on the I-PACE test track in front of the exhibition grounds. This is to show those interested in environmentally friendly driving further possibilities beyond the vehicle to drive even greener.

The SOLARWATT PV system consists of 50 glass-glass modules, an EnergyManager and a 12 kWh MyReserve battery. The electricity generated in the PV modules is charged directly into the electric vehicle via a wallbox. When the sun is not shining, the I-PACE is supplied with energy from the battery.

"With our PV system, Jaguar is showing ways how their electric vehicles can drive even more environmentally friendly," says Detlef Neuhaus, Managing Director of SOLARWATT. "In addition, the costs for charging the car with grid power are eliminated. With free solar energy from your own PV system, you can help the environment and even save money".

"At Jaguar, we think beyond the vehicle when it comes to electric mobility. With the PV system, we want to show trade fair visitors that charging their I-PACE is also convenient and environmentally friendly at home. The turnkey photovoltaic system from SOLARWATT is a perfect way to do this," says Christoph Löer, Director Marketing & PR, Jaguar Land Rover Germany GmbH.
